The Magdalene Centre
The Magdalene Centre is the new name for the Church Hall. Over the next few months the redevelopment of the Church Hall will commence, to bring it up to standard and also to become a 'Community Hub' in Winton.
We envisage a Centre which is at the heart of the community, where people can meet and celebrate, and come into contact with the Chuch locally.
We already have two new partners who wish to use the centre on a regular basis.
Redevelopment Phases:
Phase 1: Heating, Lighting and Electrics - All Health and Safety work to bring the Hall to a standard in which it can open again to the public.
Phase 2: Redevelopment of the Toliets, New Kitchen to be installed, New floor in the Main Hall
Phase 3: Redevelopment of the back room - creating a Mezzanie Floor for an office/small meeting room.
Phase 4: Creation of an ICT unit within the Centre, to enable IT lessons and Teenage Youth Work to be undertaken.

We thank the community builders for their hard work and effort over the winter months. But finally the job is complete!! We had a wonderful opening day with the Lord Lieutenant and the Bishop of Manchester.
Opening Day
We had a wondeful re-opening day with Mr Warren Smith, JP, Lord Lieutenant of Great Manchester and the Bishop of Manchester the Rt Rev'd Nigel McCulloch. Also present were the Mayor and Mayoress of the City of Salford, Mrs Barbara Keeley, MP for Worsely and Eccles South and Mr David Lancaster, Deputy Leader of Salford City Council. We are now starting on refurbishing the kitchen area to bring it up to scratch in terms of food safety and hopefully being used more regularly by the Church and Community.
Projects which would benefit from this refurbishment is a 'Silver Lunch' for older people, a youth club on a Friday night. watch this space for more up dates and photos!!
As of September 2016 all works have been completed. The hall is being used regularly by a playgroup, zumba and karate groups. ROC cafe winton is also located here on Tuesday evenings.
The hall can also be rented out for birthday parties, christenings, other family occasions and community groups.
